The Special Education PTA of Central Texas was created on November 7, 2011 when a group of proactive parents from various Central Texas counties came together with hopes of changing the future for children with special needs. With goals of creating new opportunities for children of all levels of abilities, these enthusiastic parents sought out to make an impact within the schools and communities.
The National PTA Mission Statement was adopted: “To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.” The Special Education PTA is driven to strengthen awareness, understanding and distribute resources. They support special education students, their families, educators, and the community through workshops, information resources, support groups, and events.
